Fire Protection

Each XcellHost Certified data centre is  equipped with fire detection and suppression system with FM200 (or equivalent) gaseous extinguishing systems, to provide rapid discharge and flame suppression in the event of a fire, while minimizing damage to equipment and reducing danger to personnel. 
 

Precision Cooling -  Redundant Air Conditioning

Each XcellHost Certified data centre has 12 inch raised flooring with in-floor routed Air Conditioning and Power. Each server cabinet has cooling vents on the floor and an air circulating fan on top of each cabinet to pull the cool air through the cabinet. The HVAC system is redundant with zone based temperature monitoring and an industrial grade filtration system.   Each XcellHost Certified Data Centre has  redundant air conditioning systems. Equipment performance and life span can be significantly improved by housing the system under optimum environmental conditions. Typically, it is maintained at around a constant 68° F. plus or minus 3° F. with humidity at a constant 45% - 50%, as per international data centre standards.

Power Distribution - Conditioned Power and Redundant UPS

Each XcellHost Certified data centre should have main power to the Internet data center be supplied by the regional electric power utility. Two-fold resilience is provided in the form of uninterruptible power supplies (UPS) to each area. Additionally, diesel generator backup should also starts automatically within seconds after a main power source failure.  The power systems in the data center should provide industrial grade conditioned power, designed to run the entire data center without interruption. The power system is backed by an industrial grade UPS system, and also a 2 Megawatt Industrial Diesel Generator as secondary power backup with diesel stock of minimum period of 1 week. 

Physical  Security 

Each XcellHost Certified data centre is a secure, controlled access facility. The facility is secured with Card Key Access System, 24-hour Video Monitoring System with cameras installed in key locations to cover all accessible data center floor space. In addition to the floor access security, all server hardware is housed in locked steel cabinets with blinded louvered doors be guarded with security persons for 24 hours a day and 365 days a year. A very high security is maintained inside and outside the data centre premises.
